REAL ID extension granted
The Department of Homeland Security notified Governor Stitt by letter on October 2, 2019 an extension has been granted to Oklahoma through September 18, 2020 to satisfy the requirements of the REAL ID Act and regulation. For the duration of this extension, federal agencies may accept Oklahoma-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards for official purposes.
The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety has made this a top priority with Secretary Chip Keating personally taking the lead.
