Pearl Sue Steele

Pearl Sue Steele was born November 5, 1943 in Bluefield, West Virginia to Walter Earnest Casey and Oma Beatrice (Witherspoon) Casey. She passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 at her home in Okemah at the age of 76.

Mrs. Steele was a longtime resident of the Okemah area. She and Billy F. Steele were married July 11, 1963 in Wetumka, Oklahoma. Mrs. Steele retired from Okemah Public Schools after 18 years of employment as a cook at Oakes Elementary School. She enjoyed shopping, sewing, collecting Barbie dolls and especially enjoyed hummingbirds and cooking for her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Rita Gayle and two brothers, Walter Jr. and Johnny Lee.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Steele of the home; three daughters, Mary Sue Ens of Okemah, Billie Jo Bushnell and husband Darren of Wills Point, Texas and Kellie Steele Bradford and fiancé Chris Hurtt of Okemah; two brothers, Bobby Casey of Seattle, Washington and Brian Casey of Nice, California; one sister, Virginia Sadler of Honolulu, Hawaii; eight grandchildren, Dusty Pangle, Crystal Harris, Josh Pangle, Tell Pangle, Brett Bushnell and fiancé Katie VanDyke, Brody Bushnell, Kody Bradford and fiancé Izabel Tinoco and Kasey Jo Bradford; two “bonus grandchildren”, Jayme Tyndall and Christopher Hurtt and seven great-grandchildren.
