HAPPENINGS AT THE GOLF COURSE

Nokey Klutts, Donnie Peters and Earnie Fox were shooting the breeze when I went into the clubhouse to take Earnie his lunch on Saturday, August 22nd. Nokey kept saying, “Just one more story.” I’ll have to admit that he tells the most interesting stories of anyone I’ve ever heard.
I also saw one of my former students, Jason Price, on Saturday. He likes to come play golf when he is in town. I think that he played almost all day. We enjoy seeing you do that, Jason.
Robbie Deere, another former student, came to play golf on Sunday, August 23rd. Robbie is always so cheerful and makes people around him feel good. I hope that you had a great game, Robbie.
Jessy Wade and Justin Groves played golf together on Sunday. Not only did they play, but Jessy eagled hole #5. Congratulations, Jessy.
This is an advance notice that there is going to be a Tony Dean Memorial Scholarship Tournament on Saturday, September19th. Tony’s wife, Monica, and “Tiger” Dean are working on putting it together. There will be 1st and 2nd place winners. Players may purchase chances to win for the longest drive and the closest to the pin and may purchase mulligans as well. They are going to put out flyers that will tell about the entry fee and the prizes. We will know more about that later.
30 players participated in the 2-person scramble on Thursday, August 20th. Chris Burgess and Randy Northcut won the scramble with a score of 5 under par. Chris Burgess also won the prize for the closest to the pin and Justin Groves won for the longest drive.
56 golfers participated in the 4-person scramble on Monday, August 24th. Travis Scott, Justin Groves. Aaron Jarvis and Steven Jarvis won the scramble with a score of 9 under par. Justin Groves also won the prize for the closest to the pin and Sawyer Jeffrey won for the longest drive.
Things are looking great at the golf course.
