Sam Walsh Wilson was born November 11, 1938 in Last Chance, Oklahoma to Sam and Mary (Walsh) Wilson. He passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 81.
Sam graduated from Okemah High School in 1957. He later enlisted in the United States Army in 1961 and volunteered for Special Forces Duty. He served as a Green Beret with the First Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. Sam was extremely proud of his military service. On October 14, 1966, in Okemah, Oklahoma, he married Linda Lee. Together, they owned and operated Wilson’s Travelmart in Okemah from 1968 – 2010. Sam also worked at General Motors for 13 years. He enjoyed hunting, spending time with his family, watching his grandchildren play sports and going to the lake. He also loved old cars and watching western movies. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Guy Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; daughter, Connie Haberman and husband Chad of Okemah; son, Eric Wilson and wife Dana of Okemah; grandchildren, Rachel, Jordan and Taylor Haberman and Samuel Wilson and sisters, Charlotte Gales of Edmond and Bonnie Moore of Okmulgee.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Wilson, Bryan Wilson, Terry Wilson, Wayne Lee, Robbie Lee and Sam Wilson.
Honorary bearers include Pat Smith, Max Casey and Bob Moore.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Okemah, Oklahoma.
