Doyle Lee Been
Doyle Lee Been was born January 1, 1935 in Mason, Oklahoma to Albert Donnie Been and Iva Marie (Speer) Been. He passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at his home at the age of 89.
Doyle was a lifelong resident of Okfuskee County. He and Evelyn Kelly were married May 7, 1955 in Welty; she later preceded him in death on April 6, 2018. Doyle was a farmer and rancher and was the biggest peanut grower in Okfuskee County. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, hunting and could fix just about anything. He also proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War.
Also preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Danny Been; one sister, Sue Casey and two brothers, Derel and A.D. Been.
Survivors include two sons, Carl Been of Castle and Mark Been and wife Diane of Mason; one daughter, Sharla Bowling and husband Shane of Mason; four sisters, Doris Vanzant of Fresno, California, Ruby Fae Blackwood of Bristow, Peggy Scott of Okemah and Betty Dyer of Paden; five grandchildren, Cole Been, Josh Bowling, Lauren Palmer, Jake Bowling and Jayda Collins and five great-grandchildren, Charlotte Palmer, Ema Bowling, Mei Bowling, Ivy Collins and Boone Collins.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma.
