Don Laverne Deaton
Don was a graduate of Mason High School, and after graduation went to Oklahoma City University and received his CPA degree/ He served in the Navy as Lt. Jr. Grade from June 1965 to October 1967 aboard the RK TURNE and had two deployments in the Gulf of Tonkin on the search and rescue team.
He was a CPA for the Okemah area for several years. He also loved working on old tractors, hunting, shooting guns and watching Mason basketball.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Damian, one grandson, Brad Stoner, two brothers, Bill and Chuck Deaton, four sisters: Maxine Geller, Geraldine Winters, Sharon Jones and Lauryne Hensley.
He is survived by his loving family; one son, Robert Don Deaton of Cashion, OK; two daughters, Teresa Karnes of Cashion, OK and Amiee Romero of Las Vegas, Nevada; one brother, Duane (Herb) Deaton of Edmond, OK; two grandchildren Leslie and Fred Hoke of Broken Arrow, OK and Briana Stoner of Owasso, OK; four great-grandchildren, Julian and Emmaline Hoke, Brooklynn Hoke, Sierra Kelly and Sterling Dick. And special friend, Jennifer Sullivan of Okemah, OK.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma.
