Sonnie Harjo

Sonnie was born November 5, 1939 in Clearview, Oklahoma to Pete and Annie (Marsey) Harjo. He passed away March 16, 2019 in Okemah, Oklahoma. He was a lifetime resident of Okemah, Ok.  He grew up in the Clearview and Okemah area. He attended Seneca Boarding School from which he graduated and went to college at Okmulgee Vo-Tech. Sonnie served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Sonnie was also a mechanic for many years.

Mr. Harjo is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Minnie and second wife Linda, one son Robert, and four sisters; Helen, Lou, Minnie, and Leah.

He is survived by his four sons; Kelly Harjo of Okemah, Sam Harjo of Grove, Ok., Terry Harjo of Tulsa, Ok., Curtis Harjo of Okemah, Ok.; one daughter Carolyn Davis of Okemah, Ok.; two brothers James Harjo of Okemah, Ok., Morris Harjo of Clearview, Ok.; one sister Lettie Randall of Okemah, Ok. along with 19 great-grand- children, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-great grandchildren. Officiating the service will be Rev. Edwin Jimboy.

Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma.
