Donald G. York

Donald G. York was born May 7, 1935 in Micawber, Oklahoma to Charlie York and Velma (Wilson) York. He passed from this life on June 14, 2020 in Okemah, Oklahoma at the age of 85.

Donald was retired from Tinker Air Force Base in Quality Control. He also retired from the volunteer fire department and was a Shriner and 32nd degree mason. Donald also worked for Phillips 66 and with the Turner Turnpike. He resided most of his life in Okfuskee County and was a graduate of Mason High School in Mason, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Welty Church of God and enjoyed fishing and hunting in the Deep Fork area. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Donald is survived by his wife Ramona of the home. He and Ramona married on May 21, 1955 and have been married 65 years. Donald is also survived by their two sons, Billy Don York Sr. and wife Robin of Welty, Oklahoma, and Michael Allen York of Castle, Oklahoma and one daughter Lisa Williams and husband Steve of Okemah, Oklahoma. His five grandchildren Billy Don York Jr., Eric Matthew York, Amy Nicole York, James Colt Williams, and Sawyer Dale Williams and also 11 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother and sister-in-law Wendell and Leta York, his brother-in-law Harry Allen Jr., and his mother and father in-law.

Graveside Services will be held at the Welty Cemetery in Welty, Oklahoma on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Officiating the service is Brother Randy Clark.

Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma.
