Roger “Peanut” Mathew Vance
Roger Mathew “Peanut” Vance was born June 17, 1956 in Spiro, Oklahoma to James Arlan Vance and Bonnie June (Bottorff) Vance. He passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas at the age of 64.
Peanut was a longtime resident of Okemah and Wetumka. He worked many years doing road construction and with Freeze Construction Company. He enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking out and going to the casino. He also loved watching OU Football and his grandkids. Peanut also proudly served his country with the United States Navy.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenneth Vance.
He is survived by his two daughters, Faith Miller of Sasakwa, Oklahoma and Elizabeth Lucas of Wewoka, Oklahoma; one brother, Jim Vance of Okemah; sister, Vicki Carrell of Okemah; 6 grandchildren, Chris Miller of Wewoka, Raven Hutchison and fiancé Ty of Stuart, Oklahoma; Bailey Hutchison of Holdenville, Kevin Lucas of Wewoka, Audrey Moore of Wewoka and Jacob Moore of Wewoka; great-grandchild, Rayner Kye Casey; first wife, Karen Vance of Sasakwa and 9 nieces and nephews.
