Freddy Amos

Funeral Service for Freddy Amos will be held Friday, March 5, 2021 at 2:00PM, at Skyview Baptist Church in Okemah.

Freddy Amos passed away from this life on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the age of 76. He was born in Okemah, Oklahoma on January 5, 1945 to Marion Noojin Amos and Freddie Edith (Dodson) Amos.
Freddy was a 1963 Okemah High School graduate and finished his Mechanics degree at OSU-Okmulgee Tech.

Freddy owned a salvage yard and mechanic work was his passion. He also retired as a fire chief for the city of Okemah. He served Okemah’s community as a City Mayor and served on the City Council. Freddy was an Auxillary Deputy for Okfuskee County, part of The Wrecker Association and member of the Jaycee’s for many years. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends, noodling, traveling, and visiting with family. He will be missed by so many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and sister, Nadine Joan Neal.

He is survived by his son, Bobby Amos and wife Wyllena of Okemah, daughter, Carla Creason and husband Jerry of Okmulgee, Okla., Brenda (Amos) Wellborn of 41 years, one granddaughter, Cassandra and husband Patrick Cantrell Sr. and one great grandson, Patrick “Trick” Cantrell Jr., Freddy’s also survived by his significant other Alma Bridgeford “Cookie” of 14 years, two bonus daughters, Michelle Smith and husband Ricky of Okemah, Ellen Bridgeford of Okemah and lots of bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Honorary Pallbearers are David Lucas, Jimmy Morphis, John Hoagland, Gerald Farris, Ricky Smith, Nathan Smith, Larry Mark Kennedy, Jim Coplin, and Melvin Bess.

Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma, officiated by David Hamilton.
