Dean Edward Simmons was born February 27, 1940 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Howard Chester Simmons and Gracie Inez (French) Simmons. He passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022 at his home in Okemah at the age of 82.
Dean was a resident of Okemah, Oklahoma and enjoyed playing guitar, singing and writing songs. On August 27, 1975, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, he married Pamela Spain.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Simmons of the home; three sons, Corey Simmons of Okemah, Ryan Simmons of Texas and Bryan Simmons of Idaho; 7 daughters, Kristine Payne of Okemah, Debbie of Idaho, Mandy Tipton of Okemah, Candy Larson of Kansas, Krystal Simmons of Sulphur, Oklahoma, Rhonda Simmons of Okemah and Leah Simmons of Okemah; one sister, Judy of California; 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma.
