Lois Jane Hardin was born June 3, 1950 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to George B. Spencer and Rossie Lee (Smith) Spencer Alston. She passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024 at her home in Okemah at the age of 74.
Lois was a lifelong resident of the Okemah area. She graduated from Okemah High School in 1968 and later completed Shawnee Beauty School, Wes Watkins Technology and attended Seminole State from 94-95. Lois worked many years as a hairdresser and later with home health care and retail sales in Okemah. She enjoyed drawing and painting and going to the casino. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Marion Van Hardin; two brothers, Leroy and Frank Spencer; one grandson, Michael Allen Isaac Jr. and niece and nephews, Jason Wade Austin, Misty Skaggs and Matthew Skaggs.
Survivors include three sons, Coby Van Hardin of Okemah, George Henry Thomas Hardin of Okemah and Mickey Hardin of Holdenville; three daughters, Vaniece Michelle Hardin Southard of Mills River, North Carolina, Mary Emmalee Hardin and John of Henryetta and Sara Jane Hardin and Randy Moore of Okemah; 10 grandchildren, Conner, Gage, Emmalee, Issac, Bobby Joe, Dillion, Hadley, Reese, Brelyn and Arya; two great-grandchildren, Luca and Kaycee; one brother, Danny Moses of Tulsa; brother in law, Marshall Hardin of Okmulgee; two sisters, Janet Alston of Okemah, Hazel Tummons of Council Grove, Kansas and bonus sisters, Carolyn Spencer of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Debbie Covey of Wister, Oklahoma and Ann Crosby of Okemah. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored.
