Patricia Ann Hawkins

Patricia Ann Hawkins

Patricia “Ann” Hawkins went to be with Jesus on August 17, 2024. She was born to Howard V. “Bob” and Helen Pauline (Berry) Cox on January 27, 1943 in Okemah, Oklahoma. Ann graduated from Butner High School in 1962. She graduated from East Central University in the spring of 1966. Ann married Jimmy Richard Hawkins on December 17, 1965 in Okemah, Oklahoma. They had two daughters, Anita Pauline Debord and Katie Renae Holdaway. Jimmy and Ann made their home in the Wilson community. She was well known at the Wilson School for her large Christmas candy platters, cakes, and icy punch. She worked at Oklahoma State Tech in Okmulgee before deciding to stay at home to raise her daughters. After Anita and Katie started school, she began working as the secretary at Hawkins Brother’s Auto Repair. After “the shop” closed in 2002, Ann worked as a secretary for LRS Companies. She spent a lot of time sewing, cooking, and decorating cakes. She developed and directed the children’s puppet ministry in her church. She served as the Sunday School secretary, cooked for Falls Creek, taught VBS, and was an all around “do whatever needed to be done” at Schulter Baptist Church for many years. Ann was extra special and served as a second mom to her siblings, nieces, and nephews. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters shopping, celebrating holidays, and traveling. She was completely devoted to her grandkids playing Play-doh, watching the “Polar Express” every Christmas, sitting on the porch swing watching them play, and making trips to Sonic.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, Robert “Bobby” Cox and Gary Wayne Cox, brother-in-laws Jimmy Webb, David Beets, Hurbin Hawkins, Carel Hawkins, and Greg Eairheart, sister-in-laws, Lou Hawkins, Charlene (Hawkins) Eairheart, and Patsy Hawkins, step-daughter Frances Garrison and husband Daniel.
