Larry Wendell “Flash” Smith
Larry Wendell Smith was born November 13, 1949 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Clarence “C.E. Smith and Eva (Cornell) Smith. He passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024 in Okemah, Oklahoma at the age of 74.
Larry Wendell Smith, known by many as Flash, was a lifelong resident of the Okemah area. He was truly a jack of all trades and worked many years as a farmhand for Walter Joe Klutts. Larry was a jokester with a huge heart and was truly loved by all. He enjoyed coon hunting, noodling and gardening. Larry enjoyed gardening so much he even had a garden while being a resident of Okemah Care Center. While being a resident there roaming the halls, he made many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Shirley Fairres and two brothers, Clarence “Buzz” Smith and Robert Smith.
Survivors include two sons, Travis Lawrence Smith and Joshua Edward Doyle Smith both of Okemah; one daughter, Zaundra Gabriellia Smith of Okemah; four brothers, Dewayne Smith, Donnie and Linda Smith, Leon and Kathy Smith and Gary Smith all of Okemah; four sisters, Edna “Wee” Carmen, Sue Johnson, Beverly and Terry Sands and Saundra and Frank Underwood all of Okemah; one granddaughter, Rowen Lyra and nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
The family of Larry would like to thank the staff of Okemah Care Center and Centric Hospice for their kind and caring service.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma and officiated by Bro. Mark Rich.
