Funeral services for Naomi Lee Bear will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Tookparfka Baptist Church of Calvin. Wake services will be Monday, 7:00 PM also at the church. Viewing will be Monday 12:00 – 3:30 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Wetumka, Oklahoma.

Naomi was born on October 28, 1946 to Jacob Lee and Mamie (Bruner) Bear of Calvin, Oklahoma. She passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024 in Midwest City, Oklahoma at the age of 77.

Naomi attended Calvin Public Schools, then furthering her education at Haskell Indian Jr. College and Seminole Jr. College. Naomi loved to read and learn. She worked with the Federal Government through various depths including the United Nations. She served as a faithful women’s leader at the Tookparfka Baptist Church and as WMU treasurer with the Muskogee Seminole Wichita Association for several years until her retirement. She loved to hear the young children sing. Her passion and legacy was to be an example in the church so the Lord’s work would be carried on. Through missions, Sunday school and VBS and everyday life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Mamie Bear; her sister, Joyce Ann Bear and nephew, Jason Alan Downing.

Survivors include four brothers, Philip Bear (Elaine) of Calvin, James Bear of Calvin, Dennis Bear of Holdenville and Marvin Bear (Nicole) of Norman; two sisters, Jacqueline Downing (Jay) of Ada and Rebecca Bear of Calvin and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Jacob Bear, James Bear, Josh Downing, Vincent Wolf, Wesley Wolf, Faron Bear, Mountain Bear, Adonijah Bear, Ethan Wolf and Chebon Bear.

Honorary pallbearers are Jonathan Herrod, Abe Frazier, Ed Bear and Eddie Gooden.

Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Wetumka, Oklahoma.
