Betty Marie Vanderslice was born May 29, 1935 in San Saba County, Texas to Victor and Ruth Kincaid. She passed away Friday, October 4, 2024 at her home in Welty, Oklahoma at the age of 89.
Betty was a resident of the Welty area and member of the Castle Baptist Church since 1963. On July 3, 1953, in Pasadena, Texas, she married Jerl Roger Vanderslice; he later preceded her in death on February 12, 2004. Betty retired from Mason School in 1992 after years as manager of the school cafeteria. She enjoyed painting, quilting and gardening and owned and operated a gift shop until 2005.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, Victor and Ruth Kincaid; one sister, Wynona V. Dillard and two granddaughters.
She is survived by her four sons, Jerl Isaac Vanderslice and wife Evangeline of Welty, James Rodney Vanderslice and wife Patricia of Welty, Joel Victor Vanderslice and wife Vicki of Welty and Jon Eric Vanderslice of Welty; 9 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma.
