James Coy Moore
James Coy Moore was born February 8, 1930 to E.L. and Mary Ida (Ackerman) Moore in Onia, Arkansas. He passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025 in Okemah, Oklahoma at the age of 94.
Coy served in Germany during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. On October 28, 1956 he married Eula Inez Neal in Okemah, Oklahoma. They were married by his brother, Charles Moore who was a preacher. Coy and Eula were married for 51 years. Coy worked for Okfuskee County for many years having graded rural roads and hauled endless loads of gravel. He later went to work for Okemah Lumber Yard. Not only did he work for the lumber company, Coy was the truck driver that picked up the lumber in Kansas City for the Parks family. At night, Coy would roof houses in local towns.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Arthur Moore, Charles Moore and Frank Moore; his wife, Eula and his daughter, Sally Moore.
Survivors include three children, Shirley Bracken of Okemah, Wanda Nadeau of Sapulpa and Vernon Moore of Okemah; four grandchildren, Andrea Smith, Wes Gardner, Shelly Gaulden and Kelly Gaskill; great-grandchildren, Addison and Caiden Smith, Gracie, Oliver and Evelyn Gardner, Vagel and Jerod Skinner, Alex Durrett, Jacob and Jax Miller, Diesel Ford and Julia Gaskill.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wesley Gardner, Jacob Miller, Jerod Skinner, Vagel Skinner, Alex Durrett and Josh Gaskill.
Honorary bearers include Donald Moore, Bill Smith and Mickey Neal.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma.
