Billie Jean (Dyer) Warden

Billie Jean (Dyer) Warden, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the age of ninety-nine years old.  Billie was born on October 26, 1925 in Micawber, Oklahoma, near Paden.  She was the daughter of William and Madeline (Farris) Dyer.  After leaving high school, Billie went to work at Douglas Aircraft factory (now Tinker AFB) before getting married.

Billie married Louis Calaway Warden on April 21, 1944 and they were happily married for more than sixty-three years before he preceded her in death on June 15, 2007.  Billie and the family moved throughout the country, following Louis’s work.  Together, they settled on their place near Paden following his retirement in 1988.  After Louis’s death, Billie, went to live with her daughter in Edmond, to be closer to her children and their families.  There she lived the remainder of her life.

Billie loved working in her flower beds, garden, and doing all things outside, even mowing the yard.  If she couldn’t be outside she would be in her kitchen making a homemade dessert, plum jelly or crocheting something.

Billie was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and had a strong faith in Lord and Savior.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of more than sixty-three years, Louis Warden; two sons, Ron Warden and Monty Warden; her son-in-law, Jim Ward; her grandson, Lee Warden and her brother, Clayton Dyer.

Those left to cherish her memory are, her daughter, Gayla Ward; her daughters-in-law, Judy Warden and Gloria Warden; her grandchildren, Brian Warden, Shean Warden and his wife, Holly, Rebecca Hendry and her husband, Derek, Sarah Milburn and her husband, Chris and Amanda Moore; nine great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Vernice Warden; three nieces and a nephew.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at the Prague Cemetery.
