Bernard Angel “Possum” Gomez 

Funeral services for Bernard Angel “Possum” Gomez will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Johnson Family Cemetery.

Bernard Angel “Possum” Gomez was born April 19, 1978, in Downey, California to Jose “Pepe” Gomez and Gwendolyn (Nilima) Sinohui. He passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025, in Sonoma, California at the age of 47.

He loved Jesus, going to church and enjoying lake days with his family. Bernard was also a big fan of the LA Dodgers. He loved his family, and they loved him and will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his father; and one sister, Leah Cecelia Sinohui.

Bernard is survived by his mother, Gwendolyn Sinohui; step-father, Phil Riggle; his son, Devon Bear; three brothers, Rudy Casey Sinohui, Albert Daniel Sinohui, and Micheal Vincent Sinohui; six sisters, Valerie Sinohui, Larena Sinohui, McKenzie Cunningham, Valerie Gomez, Jessica Gomez, and Sarah Gomez.

Services were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma.
