Velta Marie Hair was born October 6, 1930 in Mulberry, Arkansas to E.W. and Neta (Medlock) Bright. She passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020 in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 89.
Mrs. Hair was a longtime resident of Okemah and current resident of Lawton, Oklahoma. On October 16, 1950 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, she married Charles C. Hair; he later preceded her in death September 20, 2013. Mrs. Hair was a loving homemaker and longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Okemah. She enjoyed reading, watching the Oklahoma City Thunder and especially spending time with her great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Charles Lynn Hair; one granddaughter, Emily Chambers and three brothers, Eugene, Richard and Raymond Bright.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Chambers of Lawton, Oklahoma; her sister, Mary Rayburn and husband Ron of Grove, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Jerod Chambers and wife Jennifer of McKinney, Texas and Trey Chambers and wife Amista of Lawton, Oklahoma and five great-grandchildren, Felicity, Fletcher, Finley, Crash and Trigg Chambers.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home.
